Last summer, I discovered your wonderful website / blog about hiking in the Nelson Lakes National Park, NZ when I was investigating the Angelus Circuit. I was an inexperienced (but athletic) backpacker who was considering taking an ‘active’ vacation with a NZ tour company. Well, I just returned from the fabulous trip a few weeks ago, and we hiked from St. Arnaud to the Lakehead Hut, spent the night, then hiked along the Hukere Stream toward the ridgeline to the lovely Angelus Hut, spent the night, and headed back to St. Arnaud via Robert Ridge. It was a real adventure for me . . . and I’m no longer a complete backpacking novice!

I am peruvian, lived in australia for 10 years and now live in Paris. I have married a lovely french man and together we head to my motherland for our honeymoon later on in the year.

I was doing some research and found your wonderful site. It is so inspiring, full of information and you make us feel as if we are walking right beside you. Thankyou.

I left peru at 13 with my mother. The situation in the country was very difficult back then. I left behind my family and my country for a brighter future in Australia. I've only gone back to Peru once in the past 22 years.

This trip to South america is really important for me to re-discover the country of my origin and my people and also for my husband JP to see where I come from.

I think we will only have between 4 and 5 weeks as we are both working so don't think we can afford any more time off... I was wondering if it would not be too much hassle if I could please ask you a few things about organising our trip. For example things to absolutely not miss and things to maybe put last on our list.

I have only scratched the surface of your travels, but you have inspired me to keep on trekking! I am planning a trip to Turkey to do the Lycian Way, and your website has been wonderful. Great pics David, as Kris said, took me straight back there. Especially liked the reflections (if I didn't know you to be such an honest man I'd have thought you cheated with photoshop - amazing) and the panorama from the top of windy ridge: my camera lens cover jammed half open I discovered when I returned from that apparently perilous point, probably as I was in a bit of a hurry as my companion not too keen on the spot. Sadly, I'm a Brit, not Canadian, yet, tho' am working on it. Thanks for making the effort to get Sandy to contact me so we could see these. Happy travels!
